10/2008-Present: Psychotherapy Private Practice

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Practicing psychotherapy with individual adults, couples, adolescents, children, and their families. Specializing in working with children who have experienced trauma, exhibit disruptive behaviors, high conflict divorce situations, anxiety, and school compliance issues. Using CBT, brief therapy, self-psychology, play therapy, and family systems work to resolve conflicts and improve relationships.

3/2005-10/2008: Oak Creek Counseling Center/Bay Area Psychotherapy Services

Marriage and Family Therapist Intern - Conducted psychotherapy with individual adults, couples, adolescents, children, and families. Worked with private pay, MediCal, and court mandated clients. Collaborated with social workers and foster care programs on Child and Family Services cases. Treated anxiety, depression, grief, long-term illness, divorce, substance-abuse recovery, impulse control disorders, eating disorders, and life transitions.

8/2005-2/2008: Discovery Counseling Center

Marriage and Family Therapist Intern - School Counseling and Intervention Program, working in elementary and middle schools as a counselor. Helped children with behavioral and emotional issues.

10/2003-3/2005: JFK University Community Counseling Center

Trainee - Worked with a variety of clients including individual adults, couples, children and families. Developed and co-led a group designed to help children whose families were experiencing a divorce. Maintained a steady and loyal client base as well as served on the evaluation committee. Used play therapy techniques, as well as cognitive-behavioral and self-psychology theories.

Visitation Supervisor - Ensured safe contact for children with court-mandated visiting parents, providing emotional and physical protection for the children, accompanied children at all times, maintained a neutral stance with regards to both parents and kept written records of each visit.
